・Peckham is located in south London. Despite its close proximity to central
London, there is no tube station in the area, and so the main transportation is
bus and national rail.
・The total length of the shopping street runs from north to south, and spans
about 2.5km. Peckham Rye station is located almost in the centre of the
street. Buses running the length of the street provide transportation
connections from the station to other parts of the area.
・There are many independent ethnic grocery stores at the south side of the
street. The majority population of the area appear to be of African and
Caribbean origin.
・At the north side of the street, there are some ethnic clothing shops and
superstores. The shopping street ends at a modern inner shopping mall
"Aylesham Center" and some public facilities. In comparison to the south side
of the street, there appears to me a more diverse population at the north
side.
